A work in progress

Gesso on the canvas first.  I'm using black now, I like putting the light oil over the dark background.

It looks a lot like a blackboard but has a soft feeling easy to work with.

It's all about the sky.  The mood of the painting is determined by the sky.

The composition and feeling of the painting is starting to appear.  No sure I like the forground color, probably will change it later.

I like to paint the light into the shadow areas. It gives a sense of volume and  and dimension.  Still don't like the foreground.

A few changes and a few details along with a starry night and I tell myself I'm finished and put the brushes down.
